My dad had an auto repair business in our garage when I was growing up, so the smell of grease, oil and hand goop is comfort scent to me.  All of us kids are mechanical in some fashion and so is our son.  It runs in the family.  That’s why I was really looking forward to meeting the Goldade family, owners of Stoughton Tire & Auto Repair Inc. on West Main Street.

Tod & Terri had managed Stoughton Tire for a number of years for the previous owner and 15 years ago come February, bought the business.  Their two sons, TJ and Ryan, grew up watching, later helping their parents at the shop and  today, all four family members work together every day serving their customers.  

If you’re not a customer of Stoughton Tire yet, but spend your Friday nights at Madison International Speedway, you may have seen the #81 sportsman and the #39 limited late model cars driven by the Goldade boys and perhaps talked with the Goldade family.  Tod also use to race the #9 sportsman for many years at Jefferson Speedway. This has been the Goldade family hobby for 23 years.

Stoughton Tire & Auto Repair is a 4 S.T.A.R. business in vehicle repair and maintenance.  Terri states the company goals, “We strive to have every vehicle in and out of our shop the same day whenever possible and we provide free local shuttle service to and from the shop.  We use quality parts and stand behind our work.”

S.T.A.R. keeps up on all of the most current equipment, including the diagnostic and computer equipment needed to service today’s vehicles.  And since the shop started out as a tire store, you can buy all the top brands of tires. For your convenience, tires can be repaired while you wait. Firestone, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Cooper, Uniroyal are either in stock or within a day’s delivery to get you back on the road right away.
